On October 26, 2018, a Welcome Event for Fulbright visiting scholars was organized at Khazar University’s Neftchiler Campus.
The goal of the event was to welcome the recipients of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Fellowship to the academic community of Khazar University.
This current fall semester Khazar University hosts Dr. Qaisar Sultana, Professor Emeritus at the College of Education of the Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Sultana possesses vast experience in education, in particular, special education. Within her program at Khazar University, she teaches several courses in education and is also actively involved with the University’s Development Center as a trainer and facilitator.
Participants of the event also included Dr. Nadeem Fazal, Professor of Microbiology, Immunology & Physiology of Chicago State University College of Pharmacy (USA) and Dr. Nabil Al-Tikriti. Prof. Nadeem Fazal who conducts research at the State Medical University also provides effective academic writing and research workshops and seminars to PhD students of Khazar University. Dr. Nabil Al-Tikriti, Associate Professor of History at the University of Mary Washington, will spend fall semester at Baku State University.
The welcome event included short speeches by visiting professors, musical performance by the head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts Ms. Zulfiyya Sadigova (piano) as well as networking over tea and sweets. Founder of Khazar University, Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees Professor Hamlet Isakhanli also participated in the welcome event.
Fulbright Visiting Scholar, a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, is administered by the U.S. Embassy in Baku.
