On October 19, 2018, on joint organizational support of Heydar Aliyev Center and “Regional Development” Public Union, Afag Karimova, an expert on batik, Director of Museum of Applied Art at Khazar University, Design Instructor at the University, Member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, conducted a training “Batik in Applied Art” at Heydar Aliyev Art School in “ASAN Hayat” complex, Masalli city. She provided information on development and types of batik, an art of Decorative painting on cloth, and added that batik is widespread in Indonesia, India, China, Azerbaijan and other countries.

Afshan Asadov, Artist of Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater named after Abdulla Shaig and Presidential Award Winner, delivered a speech about techniques of batik decoration.

Rafael Asadov, Instructor of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and Honored Art Worker, also participated in the event.
