Prof. Isakhanli delivered his speech on “Major Rivers flow from the West to the East: Azerbaijan and China”, where he correlates Azerbaijan and China from the historical and cultural viewpoint as the heirs of the Silk Road.
World Cultural Forum is a high-level, non-governmental international cultural forum. It is also the only national non-governmental organization named after a forum and registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs. With an executive board based in Beijing, the forum, since its initiation, has successfully held four annual conferences, with participation of people from all walks of life both at home and abroad covering over 60 countries and regions on five continents.
In a world laden with uncertainties and instability, no civilization alone can address the challenges shared by all mankind. When people across the world desire a clean and beautiful world of peace and development, openness and inclusiveness, lasting peace and universal security, as well as common prosperity, culture is expected to shoulder a fundamental, overarching, strategic responsibility in the long run. In the light of this, the fifth annual conference, with the theme “Dialogues of Civilizations: Building a Community of Shared Future for Mankind”, presents an opportunity for elites from various sectors in China and beyond to share ideas and learn from each other, contributing collective wisdoms to the development of “universal civilization”.
