On October 6, 2018, on organizational support of Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archaeology, and initiative of Orkhan Zamanova, Instructor of the Department, students and instructors of the School of Education as well as Elza Samadova, Dean of the School of Education, visited Gobustan, one of the unique historical and cultural monument complex of Azerbaijan and the world.
The aim of the visit was to enlighten first and second year students, majoring in History, about the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
The students saw ancient caves, rock paintings, originality of the landscape, the mansion and habitat of the primitive man on the Boyukgardash Mountain. Then students went on excursion to get familiar with petroglyphs, studies on petroglyphs, geography, ancient climate and landscape as well as the fauna and flora of the region, and life of a primitive man. The visit caused a huge interest and finished with leisure activities.
