On September 29, 2018, Khazar University Development Retreat was held at the newly established Khazar University Conference and Leisure Center in Buzovna district with the participation of representatives of all schools, centres of Khazar University as well as Dunya School. Students of some departments also attended as volunteer members to present their co-created ideas. The retreat targeted to discuss and generate new creative ideas for development of the university and, particularly, for organizing Summer and Winter Schools.
The Development Retreat started with the presentation by Professor Hamlet Isakhanli’s speech on Challenges and Opportunities of Khazar University. In his presentation, he spoke about the challenges and perspectives of the university and set those issues as strategic orientation for the next academic year. The speech was followed by a workshop to generate the new ideas and during the three consecutive sessions different ideas were presented by the teams and departments.
Later, lively discussions were carried out on Summer/Winter schools to be opened at Khazar University. All departments put forward their ideas and suggestions on the topic.
The second session dedicated to New Project Ideas and New Founding Opportunities was moderated by Dr. Irada Khalilova, Vice Rector for Research of Khazar University. In her presentation she thoroughly introduced new grant, fellowship and research opportunities for different departments of the University.
A full-day retreat was designed in a way that students and staff members could enjoy, relax and reflect on the discussed topics. Khazar Conference and Leisure Center in Buzovna is an ideal place to enjoy nature and get energy for creative job.
