On September 14, 2018, Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History of Archaeology, Sabuhi Ahmadov and Orkhan Zamanov, Instructors of the Department, participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition “People are grateful to you!” held at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, ANAS.
The exhibition, dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus and liberation of Baku, was organized on a joint attempt of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and Embassy of Turkey to Azerbaijan. The ceremony was held at "Orient" hall of the Museum. It is remarkable that 100 years ago H.Z.Taghiyev held a reception in honour of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, and especially in honor of Nuru Pasha.
Academician Naila Valikhanli, Director of the Museum; Academician Nargiz Akhundova, Academic-Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences of ANAS; Erkan Ozoral, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Prof. Dilara Seyidzadeh, Head of the Secretary of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Assistant to the President, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Sabuhi Ahmadov, Curator of the exhibition, provided information on the essence, structure and exhibits of the exhibition.
After the speeches, the attendees had a look at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be available until December 14, 2018.
Photos reflecting military and political events happened in 1918 in Azerbaijan as well as the anti-Azerbaijani policy of the Baku Soviet, the genocide of Azerbaijanis, the establishment of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus and liberation of Baku are demonstrated at the exhibition. Moreover, arms and flags of the Museum, memorabilia and gifts, auxiliary historical materials and more than 120 unique historical exhibits are also demonstrated.
