The final stage of competition “Your view” held

On June 11, on organizational support and joint effort of the Department of Design of the University, the final ceremony of “Your view”, a competition-based exhibition, which was one of the plans of “The Same” team of the School of Economics and Management, took place at Khatai Art Center. The aim of the exhibition was to look at racism and discrimination through the eyes of children and the youth.

Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director for Public Relations and Media, Dr. Bahadir Baysal, Coordinator of the School of Economics and Management and “The Same” team, Irfan Chiftchi, Culture and Tourism Advisor to the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, Rumina Murshudova, a representative of the USA Embassy, Agahali Ibrahimov, Secretary of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, Ziyadkhan Aliyev, Honored Art Worker and Art Critic, Tahir Mammadov, Honored Artist and Chair of the Division of the Youth of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, Rafael Asadov, Honored Art Worker and Artist, Elchin Akhundov, Honored Art Worker and Animator, Afag Karimova, Chair of the Department of Design of Khazar University, Zahid Avazov, Director of Khatai Art Center and other science and art figures participated at the event.

After speeches of team members and guests, the exhibition was announced open under music. After a two-stage selection process, paintings of 41 participants were demonstrated at the exhibition. Prominent artists and guests evaluated all the paintings. The winners were classified into two groups - children and youth. Ayan Novruzova, Khazar University student majoring in Design, and Leyla Salayeva, a young instructor of the University, held the first and the third places respectively. The winners and participants were presented with gifts and diplomas.

A concert program, performed under the guidance of Assoc.Prof. Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts of Khazar University, was presented to the participants. Gunel Alasgarova and Turan Mammadov, students of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, sang songs. Besides, Roman Azafli performed ashig songs.

AZERTAC Azerbaijan State News Agency, “Medeniyyet” channel of AzTV, “Ictimai” TV and other mass media agencies covered the ceremony taking interviews from the participants and guests.
