On June 1-2, 2018, on the organizational support of the Department of Biology, 1st International Conference on “One Health: Problems and Solutions” was held in Marble hall of Khazar University.

Khazar University has been incorporated into the Planetary Health Alliance Consortium housed at Harvard University. Planetary Health Alliance of Harvard University, which includes well-known universities as well as Khazar University, held its annual conference on May 31-June 1 at University of Edinburgh, UK, and the Alliance, on its website, announced the conference, held at Khazar University, as "Partner event" (https://planetaryhealthannualmeeting.org/satellite-meetings/). This Alliance is financed by The Rockefeller Foundation and includes more than 95 universities, government organisations, research institutions and partners around the world.
More than 30 experts from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Georgia, USA, Canada and Switzerland participate at the conference. Also, the representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Safety Agency and the Nizami district municipality attended the conference.

Assoc.Prof. Irada Khalilova, Vice-rector for Research of Khazar University, delivered an opening speech and gave the floor to Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University, and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees. In his speech, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli stressed the international importance of the conference and wished success to participants.
Then according to the program report deliveries started. More than 30 reports were delivered during the two days. Certain topics were discussed in relevant sections in which question and answer session was also held. The conference posters of young researchers were hanged on stands and presentations were made during breaks.
A competition for poster presentations was held which was evaluated by International Jury of 7 members, and the winners were announced. The Chair of the Jury David Dyjack, PhD, CIH, Executive Director of the National Environmental Health Association, USA, announced the winners and presented them with certificates. Yegana Sultanova, Entomologist of the Department of Monitoring of Infections of Republican Anti-Plague Station, and PhD candidate of Parasitology Department of the National Research Institute of Preventive Medicine named after V.Akhundov, held the first place. Namig Mustafayev, Microbiologist of Republican Anti-Plague Station, held the second place. Moozhan Serpoush, a PhD student at the Department of Biological Sciences of Khazar University, held the third place.
Assoc.Prof. Irada Khalilova, Vice-rector for Research of Khazar University, delivered a closing speech at the conference, the participants were certified and memory photos were taken.
