On May 29, 2018, Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University met with Dr. S. Saeed Hashemi, the president of the University of Science and Culture, Managing Director of the Stem Cell Technology CO, and Asgar Farsi, Director of the Cultural Center under the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan. Participants of the meeting also included Mr. Mehdi Zakeri, a PhD student of Khazar University and Ms. Turan Jafarova, Director of the International Affairs Office.

During the meeting, parties discussed research collaboration and a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities was signed.
