On May 25, 2018 Khazar University hosted a lecturer from Princeton University on its Neftchiler campus.
Michael A. Reynolds, Associate Professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, delivered a lecture entitled “The Birth of Azerbaijani Democracy in its Global Context.” Dr. Michael Reynolds holds a PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton, an MA in Political Science from Columbia, and a BA in Government and Slavic Languages from Harvard. He is the author of Shattering Empires: The Clash and Collapse of the Ottoman and Russian Empires, 1908-1918 (Cambridge University Press, 2011), a recipient of the American Historical Association’s George Louis Beer Prize, a Choice outstanding title, and a Financial Times book of the summer, and editor of Constellations of the Caucasus: Empires, Peoples, and Faiths (Markus Weiner, 2015).
The lecture which was attended by the students and staff of Political Science and International Relations department ended with a Q&A session.
