On May 27, 2018, a commemoration day for Sohrab Tahir, People’s Poet who declared “Let my voice spread around the world”, was held on the occasion of his anniversary. Participants of the event visited the 2nd Alley of Honor in remembrance of the poet.

Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, the instructor of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, Khazar University, opened the commemoration ceremony and talked about Sohrab Tahir’s life and career.

Pinar Mammadzadeh, Aytaj Hasanova, Sakina Alakbarli, Nazrin Ismayilova, young philologists and students of Khazar University, expressed their respect for the memory of the poet.

Nasiba Tahiri, the daughter of the poet, stressed how Sohrab Tahir worked with youngish enthusiasm until his death. She also thanked the participants for the commemoration of the poet.
