On May 21-24, 2018, on the organizational support of the Department of Mathematics of Khazar University, under leadership of International Organization Committee consisting of the delegates from Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates, the international conference "Operators, Functions, and Systems of Mathematical Physics Conference" (OFSMPC), dedicated to Professor Hamlet Isakhanli’s, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, 70th anniversary, was held in “Marble” hall of Khazar University. The main aim of the conference was to discuss recent developments and progress in Mathematical Physics.
The conference was attended by administration and staff of Khazar University as well as about 70 well-known scholars, specialists and researchers from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany, France, Spain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Austria, the USA, Italy, England, the United Arab Emirates.
The conference covered the following subjects: General operators and spectral theory; Analysis of Partial Differential Equations of Mathematical Physics; Bases, Frames and Approximants in problems of Mathematical Physics; Spectral theory of differential operators; Classical and quantum integrable models; String and quantum field theory; Special functions; Scattering Theory; Inverse problems.
Dr. Hassan Niknafs, the rector of Khazar University, welcomed the participants, spoke about the international significance of the event and congratulated Professor Hamlet Isakhanli on the occasion of the 70th jubilee on behalf of the conference participants.
Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, in his speech, called the discussion of new achievements and research directions in the field of Mathematical Physics and bringing together leading experts in the field in Baku, Khazar University as a remarkable event, thanked the participants and wished them success in the conference.
Then the experts started delivering their reports based on the conference agenda.
The conference continued its work in 4 sections within 4 days. About 70 reports were delivered and discussions were held.
A special session was held dedicated to Hamlet Isakhanli’s anniversary. The following reports were delivered: “On multi-parameter spectral theory of operators” by Hamlet Isakhanli, "About the works on Hamlet Isakhanli's operators theory" by Varga Kalantarov, Professor of Koç University of Turkey (Istanbul), "The life path of Hamlet Isakhanli" by Lyudmila Sotova, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, "Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli's scientific works in Humanities and Social Sciences" by Dr. Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Head of the Division for Graduate Students and Research, and "Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli - poet, writer and translator" by Prof. Asif Hajili.
On May 24, a closing ceremony of the conference was held in “Marble” hall. Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli delivered a closing speech. He mentioned that prominent scholars and experts took an active part in the conference and got familiar with new research findings. He also mentioned that there is a need to hold such conferences as frequently as possible.
Prof. Aleksander Soldatov, Belgorod State University of Russia, delivered a speech and expressed special gratitude for conducting a high quality conference to Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, all the organizers and the conference participants.
Baku tour, a reception and a concert of Chamber orchestra of Khazar University were organized for the conference participants.
