On May 22, 2018, students of the Faculty of Education and the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, held a special lesson entitled “Azerbaijani literature during the Democratic Republic” which was dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Dilbar Zeynalova, Assoc.Prof of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, noted that the main aim of the lesson was to enlighten the young generation about the fact that literature had a great influence on the formation of the ideology of Republicanism. She underlined that thanks to M.Razulzade, A.Huseynzade, A.Aghaoghlu, U.Hajibeyli, A.Cavad, C.Cabbarli and others, in addition to being entertainment, literature also functioned as a means leading to great changes. Students recited poems "May feelings" by M.A.Rasulzadeh, "Hali-Vatan" by A.Huseynzadeh, "May" by A.Javad, "The Flag of Azerbaijan" by J.Jabbarli, "Azerbaijan" by A.Ildirim, etc. The lesson ended with song-anthem “Chirpinirdi Gara Deniz” performed by the students.
