As it was reported, on May 3-5, 2018, İlker Başbuğ, the 26^th Chief of the General Staff of Turkey, visited Khazar University. Associates of some press agencies failed to meet with İlker Başbuğ despite their effort and blamed Khazar University for the failure.

İlkay Sezer, İlker Başbuğ’s lawyer, a member of Istanbul Bar Association, and a member of the Turkish Criminal Law Association, posted his views, on the baseless news released in the press, in his Twitter account: “İlker Başbuğ visited Azerbaijan on an invitation of Khazar University and was a key speaker at two conferences at the University. We had not planned a press conference since the purpose of the visit was to participate in a conference. We are grateful to Khazar University and Mr Hamlet Isakhanli for their invitation and kind attention.”
