On March 29 – April 6, 2018, Eurasia Extractive Industries Knowledge Hub held the next training on “Transformation of natural resources in sustainable development” at Khazar University. The training session was attended by 30 participants from 6 countries of Eurasia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan) who represented governments, civil societies, the media and private sector.
The training was run by Patrick Heller, prominent American trainer, and experts of Eurasia Knowledge Hub.
On April 2, a forum dedicated to Open Budget Survey 2017 of Eurasia Knowledge Hub was held within the framework of the training. Along with training participants, government officials and representatives of civil societies and international organisations participated in the forum.
Ingilab Ahmadov, Director of Eurasia Knowledge Hub, talked about the essence and details of Open Budget Survey. Experts - Volodimir Tarnay (Ukraine), Andrey Alayev (Russia) and Azar Mehtiyev (Azerbaijan) delivered reports on indicators related to their countries as well as factors affecting these indicators.
During 8-day training, national and international experts delivered reports on the topic and visited State Oil Fund.
On April 5, Philipp Stalder, Swiss Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University, Ingilab Ahmadov, Director of Eurasia Knowledge Hub, and Galib Afandiyev, representative of NRGI Eurasia, delivered speeches at closing ceremony and stressed the importance of knowledge and skills gained at the training. In the end, the participants were presented with certificates.
