Third training within PETRA project took place at University of Applied Sciences bfi Vienna, Austria. PETRA is a project on Promoting Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Azerbaijani Universities co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Five members of Khazar University – Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, vice-rector for Research; Dr. Elza Semedova, Dean of the School of Education; Lyudmila Sotova, Head of Quality Assurance; Raziya Isayeva, Director of Development, and Valide Karimova, vice-dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences participated in the training.
The training was devoted to WP5 on building research capacity, and covered full range of topics on building research and development. During the first day of the training Irada Khalilova delivered a presentation on Research and Development in Azerbaijan. Later Dr. Dietmar Paier made a presentation on Austrian R&D system. Presentations and trainings sessions on Research funding in Austria, Participation in EU Horizon 2020, Project Management, Quality Management, Internationalization of University were covered during the 5-day intense training programme. Last two days followed with a workshop on building a capacity of R&D in Azerbaijan and implementation of project within each university. Representatives of university were actively involved and delivered presentations on their ideas and visions.
