A ceremony dedicated to March 1 – World Civil Defense Day was organised on March 1, 2018. Irada Khalilova, vice-rector for Research, instructors and students participated in the ceremony. Mais Talishkhanov, a staff member of Khazar University and retired lieutenant-colonel, opened the ceremony. Participants commemorated those who were massacred in the Khojaly genocide with a 1-minute silence. Mais Talishkhanov provided information on importance, duties of civil defence and enlightened the participants how to prepare for a state of emergency. Later, Bahar Babayeva and Aynura Mohsunlu, got the floor to run the ceremony. Natavan Ahmadova, a student of School of Education, made a presentation on history and development of the International Civil Defence Organization and the role of Azerbaijan in this organization.
A ceremony for March 1 - World Civil Defense Day is dedicated to a certain topic each year. The topic of this year - “An effective management of emergency situations by civil defence and national institutions” - was introduced by Narmina Mammadova. Nurlana Jafarzadeh, a student, made a video-presentation on the topic. Elmir Guliyev, a student of School of Economics and
Management, demonstrated artificial respiration and closed chest cardiac massage in case of emergency. Later, a video-film about “A state of emergency and Civil Defense in Azerbaijan” was demonstrated.
Baba Bayramli, a staff member of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Khazar University, provided students with full information on safety in, warning signs of, emergency, and answered students’ questions.
