Model United States Senate conference was organized by Samira Gasimova, YLP`13 Program fellow, and Elmir Mukhtarov, FLEX`15 Program Fellow in Landmark Hotel, Baku, with organisational support of the USA embassy to Azerbaijan. 50 delegates representing 50 states were selected to participate in the simulation conference on the topic “Nuclear Threat: North Korea.” Sabina Allahveranova, manager of Career Centre of Khazar University, functioned as a Senator of the Democratic Party.
Over two days, the model Senators participated in floor sessions, held discussions, and portrayed the assigned Senator as accurately as possible.
The model United States Senate (MUSS) is a platform aimed to simulate the legislative process of the United States Senate. This program is an educational tool to improve participants’ understanding of the legislative process in the United States government and to encourage their political engagement.
