Division of Social Sciences, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), and Institute of History of Science jointly organised a scientific conference on “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic: Historical retrospective and modernity” on February 20, 2018. At the conference, Ziyad Amrahov, PhD in History, a lecturer of the Department of History and Archeology of Khazar University, delivered a report on “An attitude towards other nations in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”.
Delivering a report at a plenary session, Ziyad Amrahov mentioned that with its suitable geographical and historical characteristics in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan had been a favourable country since ancient times for various nations to live in a peaceful coexistence. Moreover, the speaker stressed that the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic respected human rights and freedom and guaranteed various peoples freedom within Azerbaijan. The speaker also underlined that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic involved other peoples in formation of government and foreign policy.
