February 20-22, 2018 Raziya Isayeva, Director of Development of Khazar University, had a study visit to universities in Scotland and sparqs for her research on Student Engagement. She visited University of Dundee to attend the meeting of representatives and made a presentation on her research. On 21st of February, she visited sparqs (Student partnerships in quality in Scotland) to meet the director, Eve Lewis to interview her for the research she is conducting. Later that day she visited University of Edinburgh to meet representatives of the student union Al Powell, Representation & Democracy Manager at Edinburgh University Students' Association and Megan Brown, Education & Schools officer. They introduced her the buildings of student union, talked about its history and functions, and discussed many other questions the research is seeking to answer.
On 22nd of February, she visited University of Stirling and met representatives of student union: Democracy & Research Co-Ordinator, Amy Eberlin, President of the student union, Astrid Smallenbroek and Vice president for education, Matt Adie. They discussed student engagement issues, positive outcomes of it both for students and for the university, as well as questions derived from the research proposal.
