On January 31, 2018, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, met Dr. Véronique Barragan-Montero and Dr. Aude Berthier (project manager), representatives of the University of Montpellier in France, within NIZAMI project (“Restructuring and Development of Doctoral Studies in Azerbaijan in line with Requirements of Higher Education Area.”). Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, Vice-rector on Research of Khazar University, and Dr. Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Head of Division of PhD and Research, also participated in the meeting.

The participants discussed activities carried out within Nizami project in Azerbaijan as well as future cooperation between Khazar University and Montpellier University.

Representatives of the University of Montpellier also met Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University.
