There was an author concert, held on initiatives of Ministry of Culture and Tourism and State Philharmonic Hall, on December 9, in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall named after Muslim Magomayev, dedicated to prominent composer Sardar Farajov’s 60th anniversary, Honored art worker, Secretary of Azerbaijan Union of Composers, Director of Uzeyir Hajibayli House-Museum. People's artist, professor Firangiz Alizada, Chairman of Azerbaijan Union of Composers, as well as representatives of Khazar University and musicians participated in the concert.
Before the concert, Honored art worker Zemfira Gafarova, Secretary of the Azerbaijan Union of Composers, delivered a speech and talked about Sardar Farajov’s productive creative activity as a composer, musicologist and public figure. She also added that Sardar Farajov has composed pieces of music in various genres, which were played in post former Soviet countries, Europe and USA, and presented him a congratulatory letter of Union of Composers and a bunch of flowers.
Dusen Kaseinov, Secretary General of TURKSOY, got the floor and mentioned that compositions by Sardar Farajov are played in Turkish countries, and presented the composer with “Commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan” medal of TURKSOY. In his speech, Sardar Farajov expressed his gratitude to Union of Composers and administration of TURKSOY.
A concert, under artistic guide by Gulbaji Imanova, was demonstrated by State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Azerbaijan State Choral Chapel and soloists. Pieces of music from “Koroglu” symphonic fresco, Shah Khatai Symphony, “Javad khan” ballet, “Garabaghname” (for tar and symphony orchestra), “Istanbul Boghaz Ichi” vocal music, “Sentimental waltz” (for violin and orchestra) and "Caravan of Eternity" oratorios. Soloists were People's artist, tar player Ramiz Guliyev, Honored artist Farida Mammadova, violinist and laureate of international competitions Zarrin Aliyeva, Khazar University vocal teacher Mahsati Jabbarova and Presidential award winner Ismayil Yunisov.
The concert ended with rapturous applause of the audience.
