An article “N. Chomsky’s philosophical approach to language: critique of structural linguistics and an idea of language as an a priory phenomenon” by Valida Karimova (PhD candidate), Vice-dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Khazar University, was published in “Issues of Philology” journal of Institute of Manuscripts named after M.Fuzuli, number 14, a journal recommended by Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The article deals with the importance of foreign languages. It is hard to find another linguist in XX century who had a huge impact on linguistics as Chomsky. The article deals with some issues such as Chomsky’s ideas on language, the universality of the syntactic structure of languages and other ideas which caused resonance. Moreover, the author gives a short but important information on Chomsky’ ideas on linguistics.
