On November 17, 2017, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Azerbaijan Mr. Nasser Abdel Karem visited Khazar University to deliver a lecture. This event was organized jointly by the International Affairs Office and the Department of Political Science and International Relations within the International Education Week (November 13-17, 2017) initiated and carried out by the International Affairs Office.

The event started with the meeting of Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University and the Ambassador. The meeting focused mainly on cooperation between the Embassy of Palestine in Azerbaijan and Khazar University. Director of International Relations Department Turan Jafarova, Coordinator of Political Science and International Relations Department Elmar Mustafayev and Assistant to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine in Azerbaijan attended the meeting as well.

Later, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Azerbaijan, Mr. Nasser Abdel Karem, delivered a lecture on "Review of Palestine" for students of Political Science and International Relations Department. During the lecture, the students were briefed on the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Palestine and the situation in the Middle East. The meeting ended with a question-and-answer session headed by Elmar Mustafayev, Coordinator of Political Science and International Relations Department. Elkhan Kasimov, Assistant of International Office also took part in the meeting. Ambassador Nasser Abdel Karem expressed his gratitude to Khazar University administration for the invitation.
