On November 10, 2017, Khazar University’s team “The Chain” held a “Peace Symbol Flash mob” in the university yard. The aim of the flash mob was to raise the awareness of the campaign, draw the public attention and invite others to join the peace chain to further increase the steps taken for peace and fight hate-speech. The event was coordinated by the International Affairs Office in cooperation with the School of Economics and Management; it was well received by both local and international students and staff members of Khazar University.

“The Chain” is a social media campaign, designed by the team of students from a diverse background and culture of Khazar University to fight hate-speech online. The campaign is carried out within the university's participation in the project "Peer to Peer: Facebook Global Digital Challenge" which is sponsored by Facebook and managed by EdVenture Partners.
