Ali Azghani, a biomedical researcher and a professor of biology at the University of Texas at Tyler, has been named a Fulbright Scholar.  With the award, Azghani will travel next spring to Azerbaijan, where he will study antimicrobial resistance in certain bacteria affecting the lungs. He also mentioned that this study is a joint collaboration between Texas University at Tylor and Khazar University in the field of research.

It should be noted that A. Azghani visited the Department of Biology at Khazar University in May 2016 for the first time, met with the researchers and students, discussed future plans and held a seminar-conference.
