On June 8, 2017, the evening dedicated to the composer and instructor of ‘Dunya’ School, Sevda Rahimova, was conducted at the “Dunya” concert hall, Khazar University. Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, the composer Arif Malikov, well-known figures of culture and art, intellectuals participated in the event.
The event started with the film about “Gara Garayev Art School” which Sevda Rahimova belongs to as well. The film was made by the Multimedia Centre of “Dunya” School. After watching the film, the concert program was launched with the participation of Khazar University Chamber Orchestra ( Zulfiyya Sadigova, Associate Professor, Art director and pianist- Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts) and String Quartet ( Ayyub Aliyev, Honoured Artist; Elina Ismat, Anar Aliyev, Samir Asadov)
Gulshan Ibadova (soprano), the Laureate of International competitions, sang the romances - ‘For you” (Nabi Khazri), "Winds" (Khazar Suleymanli), "Mountain flowers" (Bakhtiyar Vahabzada), "Do not be silent" (Khazar Suleymanli) - accompanied by the composer, Nigar Suleymanova (fortepiano) performed “Three preludes for the piano”, Nargiz Aliyeva (flute) performed the “Play for flute and chamber orchestra”, and Narmin Isgandarova (piano) played the 2nd and 3rd parts of the “Sonnet for the piano”. The composer’s plays – “Gentle waves” and “Ckerso” - for chamber orchestra were performed by the Chamber orchestra.
At the end of the concert, Ilham Nazarov and Gulshan Ibadova performed Sevda Rahimova’s romance “One of us” which was composed for the lyrics written by Hamlet Isakhanli. Academician Arif Malikov, National Artist of the USSR and Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees talked about Sevda Rahimova’s creative work and wished her success.
