On April 26, 2017, Khazar University hosted Dr. Noah D. Drezner of Columbia University at its Neftchiler campus.
Dr. Noah D. Drezner known internationallyas a leading researcher on educational philanthropy, is an Associate Professor of Higher Education and Program Director of theHigher and Postsecondary Education Program at Teachers College, Columbia University,founding editor of Philanthropy & Education (Indiana University Press), and Visiting Professorof Education and Philanthropic Studies at Beijing Normal University.
The interactive lecture entitled "Making the Case for a Culture of Giving: Lessons from US Educational Philanthropy" focused on how to develop and maintain relationships between institutions that lead to alumni engagement and giving.
The lecture was conducted for faculty and administrative staff members. Participants included: Raziya Isayeva, Development Director, Baba Bayramli, Director of Alumni Relations Office, Ulkar Bayramova, Project Manager and Lecturer,Milana Abbasova, Coordinator at the Department of English Language and Literature, Eynur Mehdiyev, Head of Department of English Language and Literature, Afaq Aslanova, Assistant at the Quality Assurance Department, Jeyhun Mammadov, Head of Department of Economics and Management, Bahadur Baisal, Coordinator of Department of Economics and Management, Sevinj Iskandarova, English language instructor, Sabina Alakbarli, Assistant at the Department of English Language and Literature, and Turan Jafarova, Director of International Affairs Office.
Dr. Noah is visiting Azerbaijan through a program supported by the U.S. Embassy in Baku and will deliver similar lectures in other universities in and outside of Baku.
