The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is arranging a seminar titled "Transition Metal Nanoparticles" featuring Professor Saim Özkar.
Professor Saim Özkar is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Chemistry, currently serving as a Professor at the Middle East Technical University in the Department of Chemistry. With a career spanning from 1976 to the present, Professor Özkar has made significant contributions to the scientific community, as evidenced by his impressive citation metrics. Having garnered around 16,400 citations and an h-index of 72, he stands out as a highly influential figure in his field. He has awarded several grants from TUBITAK and other scientific organizations.
Professor Özkar's expertise is showcased through his extensive list of publications, more than 350 articles. His research covers a wide range of topics, including catalysis, nanocluster/nanoparticle synthesis, and the development of efficient catalysts for various chemical processes. Notable works include studies on rhodium and ruthenium nanoparticles for hydrolytic dehydrogenation, as well as investigations into the catalytic conversion of glycerol and electroreduction of carbon dioxide.
