International Conference Titled "Ottoman Prisoners in Azerbaijan in the Light of Archival Documents and Nargin"

Organized by the Department of History and Archaeology of Khazar University, TİKA, and the Platform of Turkish Alumni Academics and Businesspeople, the international conference titled "Ottoman Prisoners in Azerbaijan in the Light of Archival Documents and Nargin" will be held on June 13, 2025. Hosted by Khazar University, the conference will accept abstracts in Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, and English. Main topics will include the lives of Ottoman prisoners during World War I, the role of Nargin Island in the lives of the prisoners, the conditions of the prisoners brought to Azerbaijan, the assistance provided by Azerbaijani Turks to the prisoners, the support of the Azerbaijani people in rescuing the prisoners from the island, and the writings of contemporary intellectuals and political figures about the prisoners.
