English Language and Literature Department Holding "International Colloquium on AI in Teaching"

On June 18, in the Neftchilar campus's Marble Hall, the Khazar University Department of English Language and Literature will spotlight the expertise of more than a half-dozen speakers at event. They hail from the United States, Pakistan, and, of course, Azerbaijan itself. The American speakers are U.S. Department of State English Language Fellows; the Pakistani speakers are professors from Islamabad's Air University who are visiting Baku for approximately a week; and the Azerbaijani speakers are affiliates of Khazar University. Each will share unique insights on the force which is now remaking education the world over: artificial intelligence. History is being made before their very eyes, and the speakers stand poised to comment publicly, for the benefit of the Khazar community, on what they have noticed so far and what they expect to see in the near future.

The subtitle of the event, tellingly, is: "Coming to Terms with a Revolution in Progress." With a commingling of theory and practice, the speakers will advise attendees on how to frame AI in their minds and use it effectively for their own purposes. As they will collectively explain, artificial intelligence is not necessarily to be feared, since it exists to be harnessed for the betterment of education and human life in general. They are, without exception, experienced educators who worked prior to the advent of AI but are now using it, to varying degrees, in their own professional roles.

Those who register to attend and avail themselves of the presentations will receive certificates. The certificates will bear the signatures of Khazar University's English Language Fellow for the past academic year, Mr. Michael Collins, and the head of the Khazar University Department of English Language and Literature, Dr. Milana Abbasova.
