On November 1, 2023, the Department of Languages and Literatures hosted a meeting with students, featuring the head of the Iraqi Turkmen Friendship Association, Shemsettin Kuzeci, and Professor Ömer Mehmet Kazanci from Suleymaniye and Baghdad universities. The event, initiated by the department head Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova, commenced with an introduction and an informative session detailing the historical connections between Iraqi Turkmen and Azerbaijani Turks.

During his address, Shamsettin Kuzeci provided a comprehensive overview of the political, economic, and cultural landscape of Iraqi Turkmen. Mehmet Ömer Kazancı delved into the historical trajectory of Iraqi Turkmen literature and language in his presentation. Ali Shamil, the head of the Department of Foreign Relations at ANAS Folklore Institute, shared insights about his encounter with Shakir Sabir Zabit, who came from Iraq during his student years, underscoring the significance of such live interactions for young individuals. The active participation of students further enhanced the overall engagement of the event.

During the meeting, key participants included Entela Mucho, the head of the Albania-Azerbaijani Friendship Association, who arrived from Tirana for research in our country, ASPU faculty member Dr. Reyhan Rasul, Elmira Huseynova, the head of the World Association of Turkish Hearths, poet Alim Kangarli, Dr. Madina Karahanli, the director of the library at "Dunya" school, and faculty members from the Department of Languages and Literatures, including Assoc.Prof. Aynur Gazanfargizi, Dr. Ulvi Babasoy, Dr. Zemina Ziyayeva.

At the event's conclusion, Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova presented the guests the founder of Khazar University, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad Hamlet Isakhanli's book " My Karabakh or Karabakh knot" as a gift. The guests, in their turn, graciously contributed their books to Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova and the attending students.
