90 years have passed since the birth of one of the main authors of today's concept of the history of Azerbaijan, a prominent historian, great scientist, wonderful teacher, Professor Suleyman Aliyarli. On this occasion, Khazar University’s Department of History and Archeology students majoring in History Teaching, along with the department's staff members, dedicated a lesson on Azerbaijani history, on December 18 that coincided the scientist's birthday, to his life and work.

During the lesson, the teachers told about the life and work of the scientist, mentioned his relations with Khazar University, his participation in the "Science and Art" meetings of the university remembering the past. The views of the great poet, Suleyman Aliyarli's friend Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, former students of the scientist, and current experts on Azerbaijani history, Roza Arazova and Elmira Muradaliyeva were presented during the course using archival materials from Khazar University and the Department of History and Archeology. The participants of the lesson watched the chess match of the founder of the university, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli with Suleyman Aliyarli and had a good time together.

At the end of the lesson dedicated to the great scientist, Ulviya Ibrahimova, who presented Suleyman Aliyarli's views on Khazar University with his own voice, thanked the staff of the department - Orkhan Zamanov, Zahra Islamova and Kamala Mustafayeva - for their active participation in the lesson.
