On December 6, 2019, Khazar University leadership, staff and students took part in a campaign of planting 650,000 trees, initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to mark the 650th anniversary of Nasimi. The trees were planted at the territory, designated for the new campus of Khazar University in Buzovna.

Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, planted the first three and following that thousands of trees were planted by the University staff at the area. The planting ceremony was held in a positive atmosphere and with good spirits of the university leadership, staff and students, and memorable photos were taken.
