On October 31, 2019, a seminar related to the research work performed by Yevgeniy Samarkin, one of the recently BS graduates in Petroleum Engineering, was held. Y. Samarkin has been working on this project related to the Drilling of Oil Wells for more than a year under the supervision of Ehsan Jafari, PhD candidate and lecturer at Khazar University.

Directional drilling has become a very important tool in the development of oil and gas deposits. Current expenditures for hydrocarbon production have dictated the necessity of controlled directional drilling to a much larger extent than previously. In this seminar, Samarkin showed the results of his work focusing on designing, analyzing and programing of directional wells based on real case studies.

The seminar was attended by Professor Hassan Niknafs, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, the representatives of eiLink Research & Development Center at Khazar University and PhD candidates in Petroleum Engineering at Khazar University - Shahriyar Alkhasli, Izat Shahsenov, Vafa Ahmadli, Masoud Mehrizadeh (teacher) and also the students of Petroleum Engineering Department.
