On October 27-31, 2019, the “1st Robotics Competition” among young people was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The competitions are organized in 2 categories - “ROBOT SUMO” and “ROBOT FUTBOL”.
It is worth mentioning that at 1st Robotics Competition our country was represented by a team, prepared with joint arrangements of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AREA - Azerbaijan Academy of Robotics Engineering.
“ROBOT SUMO” team, consisting of 4th-year undergraduate students in Computer Engineering, Emin Bayramov and Mahammad Mammadli, took part in an 18-23-year-old category, under the supervision of Rahman Rasulzade, Teacher at the School of Sciences and Engineering, Khazar University, and Founder of AREA.
It should be noted that for the first time in the competition, which was attended by representatives from more than 100 countries, Azerbaijan was ranked in the 7th place and thus included in the top ten.
