Chess tournament was held at “Dunya” School

On August 26, 2019, the “Dunya” School of Khazar University hosted the Rapid Chess Championship. 30 chess players took part in the competition.

At the official opening ceremony of the Championship, Salman Abdulov the Chief Adviser of the Baku City Head Office of Youth and Sports, and Elshad Rzayev, the Head of the “Dunya” School Chess Club, FIDE master, delivered talk about the development of this sport in our country. They noted the importance of such tournaments in enriching the chess players' experience.

Khazar Babazade, Kamal Agasiyev and Govhar Beydullayevawere in the top three in the rapid seven-round championship, organized according to the Swiss system.

At the end of the competition distinguished chess players were awarded.
