On July 22, 2019, at Khazar University’s Neftchilar Campus, two Interactive Seminars were delivered by Professor Nadim Fazal, Teacher and Fulbright Professor at Chicago State University. One of the interactive seminars, “PHD - To Be or not to Be” was held in the morning hours and the other one entitled “Modern Trends in Education” was held in the afternoon.
Along with PhD, master students and faculty members of Khazar University, the Seminars were attended by the Head of National Erasmus Office, as well as representatives from other universities. Professor Nadeem Fazal's presentations were met with great interest and the Professor answered the questions addressed to him. At the end of the event, the participants were given certificates.
The Seminars were carried out within the framework of the Erasmus Plus PETRA Project (573630-EPP-1-2016-1-AZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).
It is worth noting that Nadeem Fazal, M.D, Ph.D, is a Professor of Microbiology, Immunology, Physiology and Infectious Diseases at Chicago State University, Chicago. He received his MD from King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan, and Ph.D. in Immunology from The University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.
He is a member of numerous scientific and professional organizations, including, the American Association for Immunologists (AAI) and American Society for Microbiology (ASM), The American Physiological Society (APS), The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), and The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
He has received President’s and Young Scientist Award from Societies of General Microbiology (SGM), American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and British Society for Immunology (BSI). He was also a recipient of Rowtham Bequest Award from The University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.
He has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Fazal is currently on Fulbright Award to Azerbaijan. The Fulbright Program, which aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government.
