On June 26, 2019 Khazar University Air Quality Lab has monitored air quality in Baku and some suburban settlements. Sampling results were assessed by the European Air Quality Index with a five-point scale.

2-Good

3-Medium

4-Poor

5-Very bad

The results were as follows:

1. Nearby “Neftchilar” metro station - 5
2. Nearby “Gara Garayev” metro station-4
3. Nearby “28 May” metro station-5
4. Nearby “Koroglu” metro station - 5
5. Nearby “N.Narimanov” metro station-4
6. Nearby “Sahil” metro station- 4
7. Nearby “Icherisheher” metro station-4
8. Nearby “Nizami” metro station-5
9. Nearby “20 January” metro station-5
10. Nearby “Memar Ajami” metro station – 5
11. Nearby “Khatai” metro station-4
12. Nearby Khirdalan settlement-5
13. Nearby Buzovna settlement-2
14. Nearby Mardakan settlement-1 

According to the results, the best air quality was recorded in Mardakan and Buzovna settlements, and the most polluted places were close to subway stations “Neftchilar”, “Koroglu”, “Nizami”, “20 Yanvar”, and Memar Acami. It should be noted that the main cause of the highest pollution levels is the high concentration of Nitrogen-2-Oxide.
