On June 22, 2019, upon the arrangements made by Khazar University’s Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, an excursion was organized to Hirkan National Park within the program of the field activities and population geography lesson. The National Park is located in the south-east of Azerbaijan, in the administrative territory of Lankaran and Astara. At the time of the field study, the students first took the #1 Route. Here they got acquainted with landscapes of Khanbulan, got familiarized with interesting forest scenes, dendroflora of the mixed forest type, panoramic view of Khanbulan lake and also obtained interesting information about the local nature. Later on, following along the route of “Isa bulaghi”, they were acquainted with varieties of perennial maple, spindle tree, etc. around this spring beneath an old walnut tree of about 400-450 years, while receiving interesting and useful practical knowledge about them.
