The winners of the III Robotics Olympiad were selected among teenagers and youth aged 8-19, held in Baku from June 4-7, 2019. The Olympiad was supported by Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies within the framework of “INNOFEST”, and organized by the Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy and the “Youth Education, Training, Vocational and Development Center” Public Union. The competition covered 8-19-year-old teenagers and young people and was held in 6 categories. In the younger age group (10-15 years old) “Garabagh RC” (freestyle team) became a winner and in the older age group (16-19 years) “TechNoBotics” teams of the Baku Higher Oil School won. Other categories included “Robo-cop” of the Baku Modern Education Complex (BMEC) (8-12 years age group), “Droger” (BMEC) (13-15 years age group) and “Chicken Doner” from Khazar University (16-19 years age group).
At the III Robotics Olympiad, Khazar University performed being represented by four teams, led by Emin Bayramov, 3rd year student, majoring in Computer Engineering from the School of Sciences and Engineering. The teams under the “Regular Senior” category are as follows:
The winners won the right to participate in the World Robot Olympics to be held in Hungary on November 8-10.
It should be noted that the world's largest robotics competition, the World Robotics Olympiad, has been held annually since 2004 in different countries, dedicated to various themes. While being held for the first time in Singapore, 12 countries participated in this Olympiad. At present there are more than 70 participants.
We remind that Azerbaijan was admitted to the full membership of the World Robot Olympics by the end of 2017.
