On May 22, 2019, with the support of the Union of Azerbaijan Writers, “Kainat” Youth Center and Guba Region’s Executive Power, Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, instructor of the Department of Languages and Literature, held a Poetry Day dedicated to the creativity of Mammad Araz in Guba.

G.Azizkhanli, manager of this project, informed the participants on the purpose of the Poetry Day. Following that Ziyaddin Aliyev, the Head of Guba Region’s Executive Power, delivered talk about the poet's life and creativity.

After the speeches by MP, writer Aqil Abbas and poet Ramiz Gusarchayli, the winners and those distinguished during the reciting competition of M.Araz’s poems – particularly students of Guba branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Guba State Social-Economic College, Guba Regional School-lyceum, technical subjects-oriented schools and high school students were awarded.

The event, attended by Irada Tunjay, poet's daughter, Chief Editor of “Adalet” newspaper, honored journalist, was concluded by the performances of Agalar Bayramov, master of artistic reciting, as well as with the concert performed by the soloists of the ensemble “Gözəl Quba” Ramiz Ramazanov and Ruhana Mammadova.
