On May 16, 2019 the consecutive Poetry Day, organized by the Department of English Language and Literature of Khazar University, was dedicated to the great Azerbaijani poet, philosopher - Imadeddin Nasimi. The event was opened by Professor Bakhman Amani, Head of the Department, who delivered talk about Nasimi's role in the Eastern and World Literature, and also recited Nasimi's poems in Persian.

Firangiz Nasirova, the head teacher of the Department, recited translated version into English from Nasimi's “Məndə sığar iki cahan” (Both worlds can fit within me) and also from Hamlet Isakhanli's “Təzadlar” (Contrasts). Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, instructor of the Department of Languages and Literature, presented students and teachers with the pearls of Nasimi poetry. Poetry Day was held with the active participation of students.
