Civil Engineering Department of Khazar University Held a “Spaghetti Bridge” Competition

On May 22, 2019, a traditional inter-university "Spaghetti Bridge Competition” was held at Khazar University with the coordination of the School of Science and Engineering. Fifteen teams participated in this competition. The “Octopod” team’s bridge (Davud Shefizade, Gunesh Azizli, Firangiz Mirzazade) from Khazar University won the first place with 45.3kg carrying capacity.

The competition was held by the presence of Dr. Hassan Niknafs and supervision of Dr. Rasim Bayramli, Mehdi Bashiri and Dr. Ziaaddin Zamanzadeh, instructors of Civil Engineering Department, Khazar University. The event was sponsored by Encotec company.

It is worth mentioning that this competition was meant to challenge students' knowledge in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials to build a bridge from spaghetti.
