On April 4, 2019, the opening ceremony of the 1st International Conference on “Air-Land-Sea Interactions”, jointly organized by Khazar University, Istanbul Aydın University, Istanbul Technical University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) took place. Event was officially opened by a statement of Dr. Rovshan Abbasov, moderator of the Conference, Director of Geography and Environment Department.

Following that, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors welcomed the guests, spoke about the topics to be discussed and the importance of the relationships to be established. The opening ceremony of the conference was concluded with the speech of Professor Irada Khalilova, Rector of Khazar University, Professor Zafer Aslan, Vice-Rector of Istanbul University. On the first day of the conference, participants discussed alternative energy sources, changes in the atmosphere, environmental impacts of those changes, environmental problems in different regions, and the reasons. The first day ended with a workshop on the main topic of the Conference.
