“It’s my second year in Azerbaijan and it feels like home. People are very kind and sincere here and they do their best to help in case you need it” says Yusuf Temel, a second-year bachelor student from Turkey majoring in Civil Engineering at Khazar University.
Yusuf explains that his career choice was influenced by his family “I chose to study civil engineering because it is our family profession: my father is also a civil engineer and he is my idol as a professional in this field.”
“Studying at Khazar University is rewarding in sense of growing as a professional in your chosen field. My favorite subject so far is Physics because it gives me a chance to learn new things and theories that I did not know before. Teaching methods are well-chosen, allowing students to acquire the knowledge in an effective way. When we learn about a theory in class, we also learn examples around it and complete practical tasks.”
After graduating from Khazar University Yusuf plans on working in Germany. He is sure the knowledge and skills he gains at Khazar University will prepare him to pursue his goal: “After
graduating from Khazar I am planning to work in Germany in the field of civil engineering and follow my father’s path.”
“I would recommend Khazar University to everyone who wants to receive a good quality education. If you want to succeed here – you must work hard. Your hard work will be rewarded.”
Interview with Yusuf Temel was conducted within the project carried out by the International Affairs Office entitled “World and Khazar.” The project includes a series of interviews with members of international community of Khazar University.
