Waqās Ahmed, Artistic Director at the Khalili Collections, the author of The Polymath, who is on a trip to Baku between 3-7 March with the invitation of Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University and the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, to deliver a series of seminars on polymathy and the Khalili Collections for Khazar University students and staff, as well as well-known science and art people from Azerbaijan. On 5 March, in the downtown campus of the Khazar University, within the framework of 69th meeting of “Science and Art Assembly”, Mr Waqās Ahmed presented his newly published book The Polymath. Unlocking the Power of Human Versatility (Great Britain, 2018) and took up discussions around the subject set in the book.
The book is dedicated to the phenomenon of polymathy. The concise way of defining polymaths is: “Humans of exceptional versatility, who excel in multiple, seemingly unrelated fields.” The book introduces Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli among other prominent people as one of few polymaths of modern time. In the book, there have been cited numerous opinions of Prof. Isakhanli, and his deeds as a polymath has been looked into.
