On January 31, 2019, on an invitation of Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Oktay Gasimov, Director of the Institute of Biophysics of Azerbaijan, National Academy of Sciences, and a corresponding member of the Academy; Karim Gasimov, Vice-rector for Research of the Institute; and Prof. Ilham Shahmuradov, Head of Integrative Biology Laboratory and a corresponding member of the Academy, visited Khazar University. Previously, Khazar University associates had a meeting at the Institute of Biophysics on January 24. At that meeting, a memorandum of understanding was made between the Institute of Biophysics and "Dunya" School of Khazar University.

During the meeting at Khazar University, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli stressed that this cooperation was very important for both sides. In his speech, Prof. Oktay Kazimov emphasized the importance of researches conducted at the Institute. He also remarked that it was important students and researchers of the University support the researches at the Institute.

The meeting was attended by Irada Khalilova, Vice-rector for Research of Khazar University; Dr. Nuru Safarov, Head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications; Javid Ojaghi, Assoc.Prof. at the Department of Biological Sciences; Rasoul Moradi, Coordinator at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry.

Issues of mutual interest such as practical demonstration of the development of technical devices in the laboratory, shared use of devices in the laboratory by researchers and students of both parties, joint development and implementation of international projects, and strengthening scientific and pedagogical collaboration was discussed at the meeting.

Then guests visited Nanotechnology and Cell Pathology Research Center newly established at Khazar University and got acquainted with the researches.
