On January 21, 2019, Dr. Elena Rova, Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities of Ca’ Foscari University (Venice) visited Khazar University. The visit was facilitated by Dr. Nourida Ateshi, Lecturer at the Department of History and Archeology of Khazar University.

Professor Rova has wide experience in history and archaeology, she published numerous scientific articles on the subjects, and participated in several international archeological expeditions (in Georgia, Syria, and other countries). While at Khazar University, Prof. Rova participated in several meetings.

The first meeting took place at the Department of History and Archeology. Participants of the meeting included Head of Department, Associate Professor Dr. Roza Arazova, Lecturer Dr. Nourida Ateshi, Vice-Chair of the Department of English Language and Literature Eynur Mehdiyev, Director of International Affairs Office Turan Jafarova as well as several part-time instructors of the Department of History and Archeology. Prof. Rova also met with a group of students majoring in History Teaching.

Following the two meetings, Prof. Rova was accepted by the Founder of Khazar University, Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli. Prof. Isakhanli emphasized cooperation between Ca’ Foscari and Khazar University within the Erasmus Mundus Broadening Educational Experiences (EMBER) project from 2013 through 2016 and expressed his hopes that cooperation will continue in other fields of mutual interest.
