On December 22, 2018, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of “Dunya” School was held in a concert and conference hall “Injichicheyi” of the school. The ceremony was attended by administration and associates of “Dunya” School and Khazar University, parents, prominent scientific and art figures of the country - Misir Mardanov, Director of Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS and corresponding member of ANAS; Rafig Aliyev, Doctor of Technical Sciences and corresponding member of ANAS; poet Ramiz Rovshan; Rashad Majid, Secretary of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers and Editor-in-chief of the “525^th newspaper”; Jamila Bayramova, People’s Poet and dancer; Ramiz Hasanoghlu, a film director, and others.

Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, delivered a long opening speech. Remembering the conditions under which the school was established 20 years ago, he mentioned honorable achievements of the school gained throughout past years. He remarked that, with a kindergarten in its affiliation, "Dunya" School emerged as an innovative educational center in the education sphere of Azerbaijan and offers education programs in three languages. "Dunya" School was awarded IB school status and, with a name of "Dunya IB School", became a member of International Baccalaureate Organization -IBO. The school was awarded "The best school of the year" status in academic year 2012-2013. "Dunya" School, established in Sumgayit some years ago, is successfully functioning and Ganja "Dunya" School is going to be established. Speaking about the other achievements of these school complexes, Hamlet Isakhanli congratulated school staff on the occasion of the anniversary and wished them further success.

Then a film about "Dunya" School was displayed in the presentation of Nailakhanim Isayeva, co-founder of the school who directed it for a long time.

Misir Mardanov, Director of Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS and corresponding member of ANAS; Rashad Majid, Secretary of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers and Editor-in-chief of the “525^th newspaper”; Isakhan Isakhanli, Vice-rector for Administration and Student Affairs of Khazar University; Jamila Bayramova, People's Artist who was the first dance instructor of "Dunya" School, delivered speeches and emphasized outstanding features of the school and expressed their kind wishes.

Moreover, it was also mentioned that school graduates continued their education in foreign prestigious universities and a film about one of these graduates was displayed.

Teachers who contributed to the establishment and successful operation of the school were presented with gifts by Marufa Madatli, a school director, and deputy directors. Hagiga Mammadova, Deputy Chair of the Azerbaijani Education Council, presented Honorary Diploma to Nailakhanim Isayeva, school's co-founder. Then a program of music hall, sketch and dance was performed with the participation of each department of "Dunya" School.

People's Artist Jamila Bayramova performed a solo dance. At the end, a great reception was organized on the occasion of the anniversary.
